back in september 2005, i asked my friend noel to give me "by the river piedra i sat down and wept" as a birthday gift. i started reading it but i wasn't able to finish due to i don't remember =P anyway, since i've finished reading "eat pray love" already, decided it was time for me to finish "by the river piedra i sat down and wept" :)
i just realized...you really can catch up on your reading when you're single no? =D

here are some of my fave quotes from the book + the pictures are of my fave looks of the week (gotta love tumblr!!!):
* In real life, love has to be possible. Even if it is not returned right away. Love can only survive when the hope exists that you will be able to win over the person you desire.
* Love is much like a dam: if you allow a tiny crack to form through which only a trickle of water can pass, that trickle will quickly bring down the whole structure, and soon no one will be able to control the force of the current.
* Love is a trap. When it appears, we see only its light, not its shadows.
* Theres nothing deeper than love in fairy tales, the princesses kiss the frogs, and the frogs become princes. In real life, the princesses kiss the frogs, and the princes turn into frogs.
* Ive been in love before. Its like a narcotic. At first, it brings the euphoria of complete surrender. The next day, you want more. Youre not addicted yet, but you like the sensation, and you think you can still control things. You think about the person you love for two minutes, and forget them for three hours. But then you get used to that person, and you begin to be completely dependent on them. Now you think about him for three hours and forget him for two minutes. If hes not there, you feel like an addict who cant get a fix. And just as addicts steal and humiliate themselves to get what they need, youre willing to do anything for love.
HAPPY ASH WEDNESDAY EVERYONE!!!
Say no to ALL kinds of meat. LOL.
