Hello, second day of spring! Instead of flowers blooming, birds chirping and the warmth of the sun, we are experiencing a less than warm weather and a massive snowfall yesterday on the official first day of spring.
Last week was a different story, it felt more like spring thus these amazing sunny photos and a bandage skirt. My friend Grace gave me this bandage skirt for Christmas (although she gave it to me like 2 weeks ago when I went to Cochrane over the weekend) and thing is, I've never really been a big fan of bandage skirts. I just think that it is not my style and it is unforgiving. For anyone to wear a bandage skirt with a top tucked in, you need to have a perfectly flat tummy, curvy hips and Kim Kardashian's perfect ass. Not that I have any of those but I just thought there's no harm in trying. With that being said, I challenged myself to wear the exact same top, skirt and shoes--style it differently (1) accept the fact that a bandage skirt really looks good with a shirt tucked in but the challenge is not to make it look hoochie (2) do it as I've imagined, with a flimsy top (I've always imagined a bandage skirt with a cropped top too) but untucked to give it a more relaxed effortless feel.
So this is how I decided to style it with a flimsy top tucked in but I threw in a fur vest to give it a hint of masculinity. I think the key too in wearing bandage skirts with tops tucked in is to balance the whole outfit by giving it a hint of androgyny like a vest or a blazer. Do you think I lived up to the first style challenge? I hope so!!!! Part 2 would be coming up on the next post :)
P.S.
I wanna hear all about your weekend!
Mine was spent catching up with an old friend from BC and some impulsive shopping. EEP!!!
Will tell you all about it in the upcoming posts ;)
