 IT'S MARCH ALREADY!!!
I CAN'T EFFING BELIEVE IT!!!
so i told you i have a formspring account already and it is quite fun actually to answer silly questions from people you don't know anything about. the best thing about asking a stranger or telling a stranger about your life is that they won't judge you and even if they do, they don't really know you anyway.

here are the silliest and the most interesting questions i've answered in my formspring account. if you have any questions, just type it in the formspring box in my sidebar and to see my answers, you can click HERE.
and click more to see the questions and answers :)

how many times have you fallen in love?

will you marry me?

HAHAHA! i don't know how to react to this one. but lets just say...if you like it then put a ring on it ;P

what's your ideal guy?

is there a character limit here? LOL. physically, i want someone who's tall...waaaaay taller than me so i can wear heels and he's still towering me, around 6" up. i also like guys who are chiseled but not bulky...lean. i don't like fair-skinned guys. if you're asking more than the physical, there's a lot but basically someone who doesn't belittle my ambitions and would do even the silliest things with me :)

When was the last time you received flowers?

this is sad :( i can't even remember. but maybe in the last year or two i did :)

Where would you like to spend your retirement?

a place in Paris wherein i can see the eiffel tower from my window from the moment i get up and have my coffee in the morning to the time when i'll go to sleep :) and oh, a beach house will be nice too :)

what's the theme song of ur life?

right now it's unwritten by natasha bedingfield :)

if you're on idol, what song will you sing on ur audtions?

Thank You by Dido :)

if you were to make out with a girl celebrity, who would it be?

eva mendes :)

if you were to join the amazing race, who will be your partner and why?

my cousin karla because even if we'll probably shout at each other at times, we'll definitely push each other to our limits to win :) plus she's sporty too :)

what magazine do you wish you can be on locally and internationally?

locally, i would want to be in preview or rogue :) internationally, no one beats vogue :)

who's on your speed dial?

my mom, my cousin karla and friends nezie, nelly, abby, and cha :)

If you were edible, what would you rather be?

an ice cream so i can make everybody happy :)

What was the last text message you sent and to whom did you send it?

"wala, bahay lang" -sent to Jason Arellano

Kung makipag balikan sayo Ex-Bf mo, ano gagawin mo?

depende sinong ex-bf pero as of now, NO sa kanilang mga repeaters! HAHA

If you had to give up one favorite food, what would the most difficult?

meat!!!!!

What would your perfect day look like?

a perfect day for me would be sitting on a beach with my best friends, laughing and drinking :)

Tatlong bagay na ayaw mo sa lalaki?

barok, baduy, tanga

anu ung mga relasyon na sana di mo pinasok?

those with L, J and M

you said ure single with 3 ex bfs, what are your songs NOW for each one of them?

1st bf- Taylor Swift's Fifteen
2nd bf- Kelly Clarkson's Because of You
3rd bf- JLo's I'm Feeling So Good

anu ang pinakamasakit na bagay na sasabihin syo ng taong mahal mo?

"may mahal na kong iba"

what's your fave smell?

the smell of anything new--a new bag, shoes, clothes...even school supplies back when i was still studying! :) :) :)

what's the one song you wish a guy would sing to you?

michael jackson's "I Just Can't Stop Loving You" :)

what's a perfect date for you?

an out-of-town beach trip will be the perfect date :) surfing in the morning then watching the sunset after getting stoked :)

however, i'm still a girly girl at times so a movie + dinner date is still the way to go :)

what's the perfect cheap gift to give you?

define cheap. LOL. i guess anything with the picture of eiffel tower in it. i'll accept a postcard with a lovely note at the back :)

THAT'S IT FOR NOW.
SEE YOU LATER, LOVELIES.

Baggy Method Anyone?

With the cooler weather approaching fast I am starting to think about this year's winter regimen. Last year bunning worked GREAT with my length retention but I never really found something to work for my itchy winter scalp. All winter long my scalp itched in one spot - the crown. It drove me crazy. I am thinking that maybe I need more moisture but that would be terrible for my buns (having to redo them often during the week).

Since I seem to experience more growth during the winter I am trying to add elements to my regimen that will retain length but are still somewhat low manipulation, so I am considering the "baggy method." Keyword: considering

I really like Chicoro's Baggy Method.

For those that have tried the baggy method for an extended period of time, what are your thoughts?

hello summer!

HELLO SUMMER!

so i was lying in bed in this dress while waiting for abby to pick me up and i felt kind of weird wearing a summer-y dress in the city in february. but i guess it's really summer already and there's no stopping it! damn stupid global warming!

on a good note, abby gave me the je t'aime necklace i'm wearing and also an eiffel-printed printed pouch. as if the french stuffs aren't enough, we saw a couple of eiffel and paris-inspired tops at zara and topshop.
WE DIIIIIED!!!!
unfortunately, we didn't get any but knowing us, we will definitely go back for it :)
we did, however, had our fair share of shopping finds.
as always, click more for more.

cropped corset. kimono maxi dress used as a skirt. Mirror Mirror studded belt. Rustan's beaded T-flats. thrifted chained sling bag. Forever 21 canvas tote and Je t'aime necklace both given friends. red ring and shades from bazaar.

1st stop was cafe breton in greenbelt 3 for some brunch and to get our minds going as we shop as early as 11 am! did some shopping then got too thirsty and tired so we headed to SBC in greenbelt 3 too for some refreshments...and we went back to more shopping over and over again...ladies and gentlemen =P

what i shopped for:
two-toned tights from Topshop
three skirts from Landmark

what abby got:
Topshop plastic sandals
and
to be continued....
LOL!

what i wished i also got:
Zara je t'aime/eiffel inspired shirt (didn't buy it cos it was too manipis but realized later on i can put a blazer or a jacket over it)
sweetheart dress from the Landmark (didn't buy it because it shows a hell lot of panty lines but realized i can use it as a top instead with a skirt perharps)
zebra-printed leggings from the Landmark
heart or dotted tights from Topshop

i told you the mall is evil!!!

P.S.
je t'aime aussi, abby

rude boy

HAPPY SUNDAY Y'ALL!

like i've said in my last post, i'll be getting new skirts and so i did. i will just tell you the whole story about my shopping spree with abby when i do get our pictures from yesterday.
still waiting for her mail :)

i RARELY go clubbing anymore but i think this is the perfect wear for clubbing while dancing to rihanna's rude boy. i am addicted to that song ever since i saw her perform it in ellen!

one-shoulder top given by my sister. skirt from Landmark. Chanel 2.55. DIY studded gladiator heels from a bazaar. H&M earrings.

i hate when people still brand me as a party girl because i am not ANYMORE
i used to but i don't like it that much anymore.
i still want to go out once in a while, dance and drink
but it's not like i'm going to do it every saturday like i used to.
it's just sad that when you say you've changed...
a lot of people still think of it as a negative thing.
change is good.
ever heard of that???

Black History Month: Because of...

I did not do as many posts as I originally wanted to do with BHM. February has been busy and time really flew by.

Because of Mark Dean (1957 - ) along with his co-inventor Dennis Moelle created a microcomputer system with bus control means for peripheral processing devices. This invention allows the use of computer plug-ins like disk drives, speakers, scanners, etc... I can blog

Because of Thomas J. Martin patented a fire extinguisher in 1872 my kitchen didn't burn down (long story).

Because of Joseph Winters invented a fire escape ladder in 1878 I have a way to escape a burning building.

Because of Lonnie G. Johnson (1949 - ), an engineer who performed spacecraft system design for NASA, invented the Super Soaker water gun - the number one selling toy in America in 1991 I can win those summertime water fights!

Because of John Love invented the pencil sharpener in 1897 I was provided with a tool for learning.

Because of music composer and producer, Quincy Jones is the most Grammy-nominated artist in the history of the awards with 76 nominations and 26 awards I heard some good music.

And because of the 2.4 million black military veterans in the United States -the highest of any minority group (According to the American Community Survey, in 2005) I am able to live in the land of the free!

i've worn this skirt far too many times

T.G.I.F!
everyone's guilty of wearing something from their closet over and over again, right?
well, aside from my white v-neck shirts, this skirt is just way overused!
and so, i am buying new skirts tomorrow :)

oversized plaid polo from my stepdad's closet. thrifted skirt and chained red bag. B Club booties. cocktail ring from a friend. black beaded necklace from my sister. random colorful beaded necklace. beaded cuff from SM.

aside from shopping, we are going to do something silly and fun tomorrow :) :) :)

see you tomorrow, abby

Gratuitous Plug: A Woman's Perspective

Wear it Proud

So you dont like me because of my hair
It is not a statement,
Trend,
Or, some self-righteous movement
This is who I am and who I will always be.
Lets take a walk
Down memory lane
If it wasnt for
Something called press n combs and relaxers
We wouldnt have anything to change
This is who I am and who I will always be.
Dont try to hold me down
Because you dont understand
What it means
Being a NATURAL black woman
This is who I am and who I will always be.
I wear it proud
and with my head held high
No longer will I choose to fit in your mold
Of how you feel
I should look
Or
Even wear my hair
This is who I am and who I will always be.
Why must I cover
How I was made into this world
My hair is a gift,
A gem,
And my one and only pearl
This is who I am and who I will always be.
My hair is my stamp
The one and only imprint
I have to be who I really am
Its time to set my own mold
And break down the box
That has been set by you
And everyone else after you
You can try anything
To get to revert back,
But,
I love my NATURAL black hair
Because thats what makes me BLACK!

Cornrows = Scalp Rest

A few days ago I stated how my scalp was itchy and sore. The itching I am used to - it just happens during this season. The soreness was because I was going a little too hard with scratching. I have even awaken myself in the middle of the night because I was scratching too hard. So I decided to cornrow my hair for low manipulation and rest. I don't braid tight so this was perfect. I am on day 4 of my cornrows and the soreness is gone. My scalp just needed to be left alone to heal.

I haven't figured out why my scalp itches or what causes it and no I have not been to a dermatologists - I barely have time to eat. Ever since I can remember my scalp has done this during the cold weather. It's probably the dry hair because guess what - my skin hurts and itches also. I have to slather on shea butter just to be comfortable. During the summer - no issues. I am drinking more water in hopes that increase fluid intake will help. It's bearable so I'll live. :)

Here are the cornrows:

spring fling

HELLO LOVELIES!

finally something that i enjoyed wearing :) :) :)
you can definitely see the smile on my face, yeah? i realized that all the things that i am wearing here are all given by friends :) so thank you generous abby and nezie :)
i think sheer stockings is really the way to go this summer/spring season.
there's actually a funny story regarding the stocking i was wearing in this picture. so i sent a text to my mom to buy me sheer stockings. a few minutes later she asked me, stockings or pantyhose? i didn't really know there is a difference between the two so i said stockings because i believe that's what's it's called. all i know is that i don't want the ones that fall right into my thighs because i know that it's hard to keep in place. when she got home, she gave me the stockings and to my dismay, i was actually referring to the pantyhose.
FML.

pink striped off shoulder mini dress, black scarf, shoes and cocktail ring all given by friends. random brand sheer stockings. straw hat. Ray Ban aviators.

well at least, i was able to use it somehow except that i was always pulling it up so it won't fall to my knees.
so still FML.

P.S.
volunteer tutoring all day today. i'm very-Efren Penaflorida today, i must say.
please pray to God that my student will get a high grade.
