BANDAGE-d: UNTUCKED (PART 2)

So here is the PART 2 of my bandage skirt challenge (If you missed PART 1, you can see it HERE). This is prolly more of my style and how I would wear it if I am going out. It is just more relaxed this way with the shirt untucked, the fedora with the aviators...that is exactly how I want it. I imagine myself sitting on a pub by the patio, drinking vodka while watching people go by with this outfit ;) Oh, how I want summer to come already!

 I'm feeling a little lost for words lately. I am deeply saddened by how other people can be especially if you treated them as your REAL friend. I am the kind of person who doesn't get upset easily and I can shake things off in an instant. However, I've dealt with too much fake friends in the past that I thought I got rid of all of them or at least be keen enough to know if I can trust someone but I guess that is inevitable. I just don't want to deal with this kind of high school-ish crap but I guess some people are still in that stage or are stuck in that stage and I could always rise above it and be the better person. As A would say, 

"You think you know people and then they surprise you."

Oh well. I am just grateful fro TRUE friends and to you my followers who can turn my day around with your lovely comments. THANK YOU ;)

PARKSHOW (SPRING) 2011

So sorry for the late post about this fashion show. I know a lot of you have been anticipating but this weekend was just crazy busy when I thought it was going to be steady. It is always like that with me. Canada is making me spontaneous as I can be. Moving on...

Last Saturday, I tried my best to glam up after working in the morning to go to the PARKSHOW. I decided to wear this lace top given by my friend Abby from back home and this new paperbag Zara trousers I got a few months back but haven't worn. Instead of my usual boots, I donned on my H&M pumps only because the weather calls for it. I headed to Hudson's before the show with my fellow Calgarian bloggers (Danielle, Ashley, Amy, Natalia and POUT designer, Kirsten) for some pre-fashion show drinking and some catching up. The thing I always look forward too during fashion shows is mostly getting together with these fashion people friends :) After a few drinks, we walked two freakin' blocks in our heels to get to the venue and see the show.

The venue was buzzing already with people from the fashion industry. Art were posted in walls and everyone started mingling with each other. These is what I love most about fashion shows--being able to meet people from the industry who have the same passion for fashion as you do. The show started right on time with Ian Keteku doing a bit of a stand up then there was this burlesque performance. Models strutted down the runway a few minutes later. I found myself a good spot at the end of the runway but I had to sit on the floor because there were no seats available for anyone to sit (unless you are VIP) and you just have to be considerate with other people who may not be able to see. That is one of the downsides of the event actually...As one of my fellow bloggers would say, "When you pay $16 for an entrance fee, the least they can do is give you proper seating." It is not being vain but more of people can barely see the designs which totally contradicts the purpose of the show. From what I have seen, I wasn't too impressed with some of the designs but there were definitely some good ones (like the ones from Manokin Design). The show was hyped TOO much that I guess we expected a bit TOO much too. Everyone else went to Hifi for some after-party dancing but Ash and I decided to stay and dance in a middle of a dance cirlce. Talk about too much vodka, beer and exhaustion--lethal combination.

GET HAPPY

Woke up to a gloomy and snowy Wednesday morning after days of having sunshine and warmth. They say that this is exactly what Calgary is for ya! But after hearing all the devastating things happening all over the world, the least I can do is complain on Calgary's weather no matter how horrible it is.

These photos are way loooooooong overdue. I think we shot this a month ago but due to my Norovirus, meeting up and getting my USB from Amy got delayed and delayed some more. We shot this one lovely Saturday morning after having an enormous amount of breakky at Denny's, a bus and a train ride. Amy and I took turns in taking outfit photos of each other (Here are the photos I took of her: http://www.amyflyingakite.com/2011/02/leopard-bear.html) and swore that we would do this again next time when our hands won't be shivering (Amy almost got frost bite! Her fingers literally turned blackish after the shoot and we had to rush to the bathroom to let hot water run down her fingers!). We found solace at Second Cup drinking chai tea and eating cookies...eventually getting annoyed by text messages and deciding to drink!

We went back to Amy's place first where we had pizza, sausage, cheese for dinner. Her mom started mixing drinks for us (our trick to not spending too much on alcohol at Ship LOL!) and by 9, we were ready to go! Amy let her floppy rest and I changed my maxi to shorts (Thank God, I fit in Amy's shorts for I don't wanna go to a pub in a maxi skirt!). We headed to Ship and Anchor (Where else? DUH.)--I had my usual vodka 7 and Amy, her signature gin + soda. Met some cool, interesting people and bumped into some people that we NEVER thought we'd ever see again. Tummies turned upside down and lips swore like it never swore before! There are more stories in between but it is for us to keep and all I can say is...EPIC.
