suck it all in

if you are an avid follower of my blog, you've probably seen this vest in one of my posts. yes, this vest used to be a bolero but i did a little "project runway" with it myself and wahlah! a new military vest with a lot of oomph! to view my DIY project, click here.

thought that the vest would be cute with some bandage skirt but i didn't have one so i did the old trick of using a tube top as a skirt :) however, bandage skirts are for the skinniest individuals on earth and i was trying my best to suck it all in but alas, i still have puson :(

Penshoppe DIY military vest. Mango tube top used as a skirt. military green tank top from Robinson's Department Store. B Club boots. cuff and cocktail ring from a bazaar.

anyway, TGIF!!! went to quiapo today with my mom cos staying in the house is getting a bit boring already. i had a P400 budget for some thrift and DVD shopping but the thrift shop was closed so i hoarded DVDs instead. when i say hoarded, i mean HOARDED!!! i got 15 DVDs! yes, 15 for the price of P400! i know piracy is bad but what can you do when a movie ticket costs P150-200 these days??? i plan to have a marathon tomorrow since i'll be home alone again. the titles:

* New York, I Love You
* Love Happens
* Blindside
* It's Complicated
* Up in the Air
* Lovely Bones
* My Life in Ruins
* The Invention of Lying
* Sorority Row
* Post Grad
* Leap Year
* Whip It
* Did You Hear About the Morgans
* Couples Retreat
* Sherlock Homes

PHEW!!! i'll start tonight with Up in the Air since i'm hearing a lot of good reviews about it :)
oh, was also able to buy a zebra printed skirt from another thrift store while mom was paying for our condo and mom got me some underwear too since my sister brought my fave one to canada. BOO! :(

HAPPY WEEKEND Y'ALL :) :) :)

P.S.
hollaaaahh to my chictopians :) you guys are the sweetest individuals on earth :) thanks for visiting my blogspot too and for the sweetest and most wonderful comments :) if you have chictopia too but haven't added me yet, please do here.

gotta love balmain

 Penshoppe DIY cropped vest. thrifted dress shirt. Clinique DIY chained sling bag. Ray Ban aviators. Girlshoppe cocktail ring. chain headband. studded T-flats from SM.

first things first. i know how to make my  pics look bigger in blogspot :)  the only thing i wish i know is how to put those "funny" "interesting" boxes for my comments. is that because of a chosen template? if you know, message me!

so my post now is full of DIYs ;) if you have been following, i made the cropped balmain-inspired vest last august and i only get to wear it now! i was looking for a fringe or slouchy brown boots to match with it but i haven't been successful :(

another DIY project is the bag. if you can also remember, i got the chain from a P20-worth bag back when abby and i went thrift shopping but i dissed the bag because it was overused. i kind of had a hard time looking for the perfectly sized bag to put the chain on and then i remembered my Clinique clutch! i had my bf sew the chains on to the clutch last sunday and wahlah, instant sling bag! :)

as you know, i am still sick. before it was just my throat but now i have runny nose and slight fever too :( i wonder when it will all end :( i think i got burned out too yesterday when my mom, lola and i went to quiapo to attend the mass. the moment we got home, i was in bed. i slept as early as 6 pm! i cannot remember the last time i ever went to bed that early!

anyway, i got to buy lots of stuff yesterday and i must say, everything are necessities! i am so proud of myself! here's a rundown:
* battery for my phone
* gift for my nephew
* dvds (a perfect getaway and jennifer's body)
* the chained headband was wearing here (ok fine, not a necessity but its only P35!)
* a cheek tint from Bench

yes, no clothes there. although i have new clothes courtesy of the swapping sesh i had with abby last thursday :) lots of vintage-y, blair-ish and rachel bilson-ish stuffs from her :)

speaking of thursday, i spent that day pampering myself from a mani/pedi (have a red orange polish now) and a home-service massage :) did have dinner with the family too (japanese food overload!) and since my tito jessie is back in manila, we have astii champagne na for new year! yay! yay! and i also received a long-awaited letter :) will update you guys if everything is final and settled. that's it for now. xx

P.S.
do you like my new template? =)

quezon city day cool

on me: gray boyfriend blazer from my mom's closet. J Crew white v-neck shirt. tank top from Target. People R People denims. Keds sneakers. Ray Ban aviators. cocktail ring given by a friend. thrifted white chained bag. pearl necklaces and cameos.
on my bf: Folded and Hung orange v-neck shirt. thrifted vest. Penshoppe khaki shorts. white shoes from a bazaar.

so just as promised, mads and i went back to qc circle. it was qc day yesterday and the mood was so festive. there were march bands, fireworks and even abs-cbn was there. we got in touch with our inner kiddos...rode the bike, ate ice cream and cotton candy. i have a confession to make...i don't know how to bike. SERIOUSLY. all i can ride are those side cars and so that's what we got. besides the fact that we have so many stuffs and that we were feeling a little lovey dovey =) i haven't really been in a bike for such a long time!!! i thought i was gonna have cramps because mads was so heavy! i was LITERALLY sweating but we did alternate in being the driver =) mads kept on bugging me to try the japanese bikes but i was really scared to death! i remember i kind of learned how to bike eventually in college but i was still so scared! i know some of you are thinking, she's so sporty, surfing and all...why can't she ride a freakin' bike?? simple, i do sports in the water and in the sand NEVER on land. so anyway i promised mads i will just try to ride the bike when we go around dos palmas next month since i supposed i'll be landing on sand if i fall and at least, it is a secluded area. so not a lot of people will hurt their tummies laughing if i fall.

anyway, it was really a fun date! i told mads we should do it more often. i cannot wait for the carnival to open! i just wanna be a silly kid lately. hmmm...probably because i'll be turning 25 next month?? anyway, we finished the night off with tuna sashimi, california maki rolls and tofu steak at kamameshi house =)

oh earlier that day, i got to watch "and i love you so" with my mom. i really wanted to watch even before the hype because i'm really patay na patay kay derek and i've always been team sam (rather than team piolo). so yes, i like them chiseled and dark =P nevermind the fact that i do not like bea. so, it was really a bad idea to watch it before meeting mads because i literally have swelling eyes! i am so iyakin talaga! everytime derek comes in the picture and all the scenes with coney reyes were really heart-wrenching. i cried most during the scenes (1) where bea was drinking in the car, (2) saying "i hate you" to derek while she was in the pre-school alone and (3) when she was saying "i'm sorry" to coney reyes. i swear, i think even if you haven't lost someone literally, somehow you'll be able to relate at one character/scene or another. i even cried during the happy scenes! i wonder though, is there still love like that somewhere??

happy quezon city day yall =)

the bf, his jeans and other vested interests

@ the rockwell club
on me: blazer vest and white v-neck shirt from uk. Buffalo bf jeans (literally) from my bf's closet. Possibility at the Ramp glad heels. Girlshoppe cocktail ring. owl necklace purchased from a friend.
on my bf: Diego gray v-neck shirt. pinstriped vest given by moi. Penshoppe jeans. Chuck Taylor sneakers.
on my bff: black polo. nautical high-waisted A-line. pearl necklace. cocktail ring.

when jeane said she spent 3, 000 on shopping alone this july, i got on thinking about mine. i've been shopping almost every week the whole month of july because i was making lubos all the end of season sale. well, i have computed. i spent more or less 6, 000 alone this july. who knew i have so much money on hand???

don't worry, that amount is inclusive of the stuffs i shopped for last friday. i got a chained bag from Charles & Keith for 799 (originally 1, 699), faded denims on TRF for 995 (originally 1,995) and a cocktail ring from Girlshoppe worth 120. you might think i had as much fun last friday as i did on any shopping day but sadly, no. i think last friday was the most saddening shopping spree i've ever had this whole month. besides the fact that there are really not a whole lot of choices anymore, i have to learn these things the tough way :

1) DO NOT shop in sky high heels EVER!
i swear, it ruins the mood. (although it could be a plus if you are making tipid)
2) DO NOT shop with your bf EVER!
i love mads but he's just so bugnutin. shopping alone is still the best.
3) DO NOT shop when you are hungry EVER!
food makes your brain work well so you wont have buyers remorse after.
4) DO NOT buy something just because it is on sale.
who's guilty? raise of hands...uhm...ME?!
5) IWASAN ANG MALL KUNG MAARI.
window shopping is tempting.

i have high hopes that this august, i will be behaving. no more malling! i have to save, save, save! back to uk shopping muna. see you again on december tempting zara and y'all.
