last leaf to fall

here's an overload of photos from last weekend at cochrane...little did i know that the day when we took these photos would be the last day of fall :( the streets are now filled with 5 cm of snow; the weather's -17 degrees (and getting lower and lower every single day!); and it's pitch black already by 5 pm. yup, it is officially winter here in canada!

i was lucky enough to be able to spend the last days of autumn out-of-town in this little cutesy calgary outskirt called cochrane :) one of my bffs (we've been friends since we were 20 back in manila), grace lives in this town with her hubby and i was privileged enough to have her nearby (think manila-cavite for my filipino readers). i've been to cochrane once during their wedding but i wasn't able to go around cos it started raining hard and we had to go back to calgary.

this time around, i was in cochrane for 3 days and 2 nights and was able to enjoy the beauty of the town and spend some QT with my bff :) this town is just too cute, i wanna pinch it. it reminds me of "sweet home alabama" where everyone knows who you are :)

these pictures were take during my last day there which was spent in church and just walking around their little downtown :) will share random photos from the trip on my next post. for now, lemme enjoy this bed weather. ciao! xx

'tis the season to parka (part 2)

for the 2nd part of 'tis the season to PARKA, i decided to do a lot of layering since it's really getting cold here now! just last monday to wednesday, it was snowing! the weather now is getting colder and colder by an inch! tights, socks, scarves and gloves are seriously on the top of my shopping list now. i think i need to buy my NEEDS rather than my WANTS now. wants can wait until spring and summer...or not ;)

and since i'm just dying to make an outfit post (due to boredom but mostly because i love my readers so much!), i settled for indoor shots, good ol' self-timer and my trusty digi cam. hope you guys like it!

picturesque banff

HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE :) :) :)

so here are some pictures from last thursday's trip to banff. it took me a while to upload them because we went to red deer over the weekend, had a bountiful of pinoy foods from sisig, lechon kawali, fresh lumpia, leche flan and bonded over vodka and karaoke with my sister's filipino friends. 

anyway, back to banff. 

banff was simply amaziiiiiiing!!!! it's one HUGE park with different lakes, rockies, mountains and views. notice that i have different set of vests (i put my bonnet on and off too) with me because each portion has a different weather condition from the other...colder and colder i must say but a better and better view each time! i just realized that God is truly unbelievable! 

 to top it all of...we rode the gondola and saw a grizzly bear!!! a real bear out on the woods!!!! this is such a rare occasion so we were really privileged to have seen one (or else the gondola ride would be just blah).

i must go back to banff during winter time. i heard the rockies will be filled with snow!!!!
