from canada, with love

HELLO LOVELIES!!!!

so i am making my first ever blog entry from canada :) it's 3 am here and i'm having a major case of jetlag! i slept at around 11 pm and was up at 2 am...so here i am making a blog post instead of tossing and turning in my new bed (btw, my new room is looooove! the whole house is actually pretty! will make another post to show you guys).

i must say, i am looooooooooving canada! i thought i'd be uncomfortable here but i've never felt so comfortable in my life!!! each individual is different from the other. i feel like everyone has a story to tell. i'm still trying my best though to converse naturally since canadians do love small talks. sometimes it registers slowly in my head and my answers are delayed...NOSEBLEED!!!!

so here's what i wore yesterday...when i was in the philippines, i rarely wear skirts because i felt awkward like everyone's looking at me but here, i don't feel like that AT ALL! finally, i have the freedom to wear whatever i want :) :) :)

for my first whole day in calgary, we went to the nearby mall. i had to get a phone...i got a blackberry (but in white) curve. i'm still trying to figure it out though. it's so much harder than iphone! i do have an iphone though that i use for when i'm at home and there's wifi :) we had korean dinner at the mall and went grocery shopping too then we went to chinatown for their 100th anniversary to watch fireworks :)

i had to wear tights and my blazer come evening time because it gets cold!!! but it's good to know that the sun only sets as late as 9pm! i still find that weird up until now...baby steps, baby steps :)

of stripes, studs and very very very good news

what a wonderful saturday :) :) :)

i had quite a terrible friday but it was nothing compared to the wonderful news i received last saturday! i finally got the canadian visa that i've long been waiting for and i am leaving the country in a month! i will be a little busier than the usual running errands and making the most out of the time left here in my beloved philippines. i might not be able to make some posts but i will try my very very very best for you my dear readers :)

shop my closet will also be closing in a month. i will be selling all the items that i won't be bringing to canada for a very cheap price so i hope all my readers from the philippines can help me dispose these items by purchasing them :) 

most people will be sad to leave their country but i think i'm more excited than sad and scared. i've waited for this moment to come for such a looooooooooooooong time already and i think i've prepared myself quite well. i am ready NOW more than EVER. i will be reunited with my sister and i've always wanted to live abroad! i will miss my friends, of course. i will miss my family and my dog. i think i will miss the tropical weather too being an islander all the 25 years of my life. but we must all move on and look ahead. there were a lot of good times and i will always keep them close to my heart. and just as what carrie said, 

�Maybe mistakes are what make our fate...without them what would shape our lives? Maybe if we had never veered off course we wouldn't fall in love, have babies, or be who we are. After all, things change, so do cities, people come into your life and they go. But it's comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart... and if you're very lucky, a plane ride away.�

went to rockwell club last saturday to meet up with my beloved best friends but it took them so long to get out of work. nonetheless, i was treated by the rockwell club staff with 2 glasses of mojitos and a strawberry milkshake :) i will miss rockwell club. they're family to me already :(

then off we go to zara to shop. i wish i can buy more clothes but i can't overload my baggage :( so i just bought zipper jeans because it's a staple then we headed over to grilla for some late dinner. i'm going to miss nezie and nelly, we didn't talk much about me leaving. i think they're avoiding the subject. HAHA!!!

Philippine Fashion Week 2010: Day 1

HAPPY FASHION WEEK LOVELIES! 

may 26 marked the start of philippine fashion week holiday collection for 2010. i got so excited because i haven't been out in the metro lately plus i get to watch almost everyday! thanks to my beloved friend paige who knows someone who knows someone. thank God he went home from Florida for fashion week :) 

it started a little bit rough for me last wednesday because it was brownout and i had to dress up in the dark and in the midst of the sweltering afternoon! nonetheless, a professional as i am, i was there on time donned in my brownout-thought-of clothes. i just got a new haircut and (i was supposed to flat iron my hair but we have no electricity) i still don't know how to style it properly so forgive the messy hair...actually no, i am thegirlwiththemessyhair after all :)

my favorites were harley ruedas and enrico carado. i love harley ruedas' because of the graphic prints of the philippine icons in his garments. i find it so quirky yet very wearable. its like a high-fashion version of team manila. i love the black and white color palette too because it added more drama and vintage-ness to the clothes.

i love enrico carado too (not only because he's the reason why we were in the show) because of the fierceness of his collection. its tribal, warrior-esque but with a modern twist. i love the details in his clothes and i could definitely see myself wearing his clothes sans the headdress of course (although i love love love the headdresses!)

congrats to our friend/model Lady Garidan for the fab walks she strutted down the runway!

as soon as the lights and the music turned on, i got so giddy in my seat! i felt like i was back in my element once again...it was so dramatic! LOL :) can't hardly wait to share with you the other photos for fashion week...this is just the beginning!!!
