conquering Cochrane in a blazer

I hate myself for not working out today but I've been just really busy with work, my blog and my blog's facebook page plus I am nursing a terrible flu. Yup, you read it right!

Moving on, here are some photos from last weekend. It was just packed!!! I thought I'll have a steady Friday when Gosling texted me and the next thing I know I was having a strawberry smoothie with a greasy sampler of mozarella sticks, chicken fingers and onion rings at Denny's. We were supposed to watch the LFS of Beastly but ended up watching Unknown instead cos it was sold out. Ended the night with a cup of decaf french vanilla coffee, a vanilla doughnut at Timmy's and a whole lot of just honest to goodness talk.

Saturday, I met up with Dee and Banj to do some quick shopping at Market Mall before heading to Cochrane. I was just supposed to get a satchel bag from H&M but ended up getting another sling bag plus 2 fur vests and 3 cropped tops!!! I do have an excuse for the splurge though... First, I've been busting my ass off working OT and part-time to pay for "luxury" like these (so I don't have to get it from my main salary). Second, all items in that store was just $5-$10 each so I ended up spending just $45 for 5 items!!!

We arrived in Cochrane just a few minutes before the sunset thus the breathtaking view. Stories of that faithful weekend at Cochrane to follow ;)

HELLO LOVELIES!!!!

so i am making my first ever blog entry from canada :) it's 3 am here and i'm having a major case of jetlag! i slept at around 11 pm and was up at 2 am...so here i am making a blog post instead of tossing and turning in my new bed (btw, my new room is looooove! the whole house is actually pretty! will make another post to show you guys).

i must say, i am looooooooooving canada! i thought i'd be uncomfortable here but i've never felt so comfortable in my life!!! each individual is different from the other. i feel like everyone has a story to tell. i'm still trying my best though to converse naturally since canadians do love small talks. sometimes it registers slowly in my head and my answers are delayed...NOSEBLEED!!!!

so here's what i wore yesterday...when i was in the philippines, i rarely wear skirts because i felt awkward like everyone's looking at me but here, i don't feel like that AT ALL! finally, i have the freedom to wear whatever i want :) :) :)

for my first whole day in calgary, we went to the nearby mall. i had to get a phone...i got a blackberry (but in white) curve. i'm still trying to figure it out though. it's so much harder than iphone! i do have an iphone though that i use for when i'm at home and there's wifi :) we had korean dinner at the mall and went grocery shopping too then we went to chinatown for their 100th anniversary to watch fireworks :)

i had to wear tights and my blazer come evening time because it gets cold!!! but it's good to know that the sun only sets as late as 9pm! i still find that weird up until now...baby steps, baby steps :)

4 DAYS TO GO!!!

so i'm doing a backward post of the outfits i've worn this weekend since i still haven't received the photos from last friday and saturday. this is what i wore last sunday when we had lunch at conti's in serendra with my brother-in-law's family :) was supposed to wear a no-brainer lazy sunday maxi dress but it was raining heavily that day :( so instead i wore this very cute I <3 STRAWBERRY tank top i got a few months back from a thrift store...it looks new!!!! and fancy cos of all the crystals! and it doesn't hurt that i really love strawberries too :)

the comeback of my favorite shirt

happy weekend lovelies! 

how's your weekend going so far? :) i stayed in the house the whole weekend (for a change) and i didn't realize how much i miss lazy weekends at home :)

well, i didn't exactly stay at home. last saturday, my mom and i went for a quick grocery shopping and this is what i wore. it was raining and i thought it would be perfect to wear some liquid leggings and a blazer (since it is too hot to wear them in our country when it is not raining). since we were just grocery shopping, i wanted to be really comfy so i wore my keds (from way back college!!!). i think i also wore it because the other week mom was asking me why i am not wearing sneakers and alessandra de rossi (a Filipino actress) is always seen wearing one. she was asking me, "pinapauso lang nya ba yan (is she just setting her own trend?)?" you won't really see me wearing sneakers all the time but once in a while, i do wear sneakers or else, i won't keep my keds in my closet for almost about 7 years now. 

it is also the comeback of my favorite skull shirt from Zara TRF :) i haven't worn this shirt in such a loooong time because i felt like i've worn it too many times already but now it is the perfect time for a comeback! since i am not going to the preview ball (where the theme is alexander mcqueen), this is my way of showing my support, ha!

moving on, last friday, i went to the thrift store again to go back for this denim jacket because it was haunting me in my sleep!!! unfortunately, it wasn't there anymore :( but, but, but, i was able to buy a striped blazer (i've been dying to have one since the release of the striped blazer from zara) and some faux leather high-waisted shorts! needless to say, it was still a happy shopping day if you ask me :)

i also bought metro magazine when we went to the grocery store thinking this is the issue where the fashion week photos would come out but i guess it would come out next month pa.  good thing angelica panganiban (Filipina actress) is in the cover and she looks just stunning in her au naturel make-up :) however, i don't like the issue. the styling for the fashion shoots was just bad. next time, i'm just going to stick with preview. oh, who's excited for the best dressed issue this year? I AM! I AM!!! :)
