Summer Hair Regimen

The summer heat and sun can really stress my hair. It also doesn't help that I decided to dye my hair earlier in the summer. To show my strands some love I had to play around with differnt regeime in order to find out what works for me.

I try to keep in a protective style for at least 3-4 days. I love wearing my hair out in the summer-the wind feels so going blowing it all over the place. After wearing it out I perform my wash & deep conditioning ritual.

An average week looks like this:
Sunday - Wear out
Sunday night - Shampoo/deep condition/Protective style
Monday - Wear protective style
Tuesday - Still Wearing protective style
Wednesday - Wear out
Thursday - Wear out
Thursday night - Co-wash/Protective style
Friday - Protective style
Saturday - Protective style

Products used:
Shampoo - Organics Olive Oil Shampoo
Conditioner - Suave Organics or Aussie Moist
Moisturizer - Shea Butter/Olive Oil Mix
Hair Spritz - Water/Peppermint Oil

star for all seasons

all photos are courtesy of The Philippine Star

i'm doing a martine and i don't care.

asked by my friend, philippine star writer Abby Rebong, whats my favorite fashion trend from '86 to '09? for her to feature at star's anniv issue and i simply answered,

"definitely leggings because it's comfortable and very versatile-- I can pair it with dresses, tops, even skirts and shorts."

walang ka-churvahan talaga. leggings are the best among the rest! the comeback of it from the usual 80's "tacky fashion era" connotation was, i think, the sweetest revenge in fashion history. i don't care if people say i wear them all the time because really, who doesn't have leggings in their closet? i mean, it is such a staple that anyone who doesn't have a pair of leggings in their closet should be ashamed of themselves! leggings can be worn by anyone of any age whether you are a mom who's just going to the palengke to a hip youngster hitting embassy.

i did like the "ballet flats" trend also. besides the fact that it is an advantage for tall girls like me, it made even the simplest outfit look chic yet comfy. i mean, who are we to argue with probably the greatest fashion ever lived? audrey hepburn, ring a bell?

oh, my cousin Karla Fukui, her friend Cristina Gotaco, my bff Nezie Fontanilla and my high school classmates Joyce Arada and Tin Gabriel also had their fave fashion trends featured.

the 23rd anniv issue of Star was released July 28, 2009 here in the Philippines.

Trying (blogging) Again

With my hectic schedule keeping up with a blog is actually pretty hard to do. However, if I blog about something that is in my schedule then that should make thing easier right? We'll see.

Recently, a friend and I decided to start something like a support group on our area for natural/transitioning/thinking about ladies. This is the start of that process. So far we are planning our first meeting for September 12, 2009. I will be tracking our planning process and gathering hair tips to share along the way.

the one-shoulder tulip dress

dress from uk. Possibility at the Ramp gladiator heels. Girlshoppe cocktail ring. earrings given by a friend.

again, this one is an old dress which is really with two puffed sleeves like any normal dress. but since the neckline is wide, i was able to strategically pin the other sleeve at the back and make it into a one-shoulder dress =)

oh, and i love the tulip cut of the skirt part =)

jumper skirt with a twist

pinstriped jumper skirt from uk. white tube and shoes from tiange. Tomato silver cuff. silver sling bag from my mom's closet.

for avid readers of my blog, you've probably seen me wear this without the X-strap in front. but since the straps are detachable, i gave it a new twist by making an X out of it. i do think its more fab, don't you think?

statement vintage belt

@ starbucks
on me: Mossimo black v-neck shirt. Zara harem pants. GAP patent bag. studed T-flats from SM. vintage belt from my grandma's closet.
on aids: top purchased (from me!) online. H & M gray slim fit jeans. Charles & Keith peep-toe heels. LV bag.

reunited with high school friends, aids and eiya last tuesday to celebrate aids' 25th bday. yes, she's old and she wants no party...that's why we headed to the nearby starbucks instead. happy bday again mare! =)

on a happier note, yesterday was major discount day for me!!! went to galleria to purchase our plane tickets for our 3rd year anniv + my bday trip on september 23-26 and i am so glad to announce that i got our plane tickets for 50% off! i was expecting to pay 4, 400 but instead i paid only 4, 022 for 2 pax/ round trip! its my bf's bday gift for me. ain't he grand? =)

now, off to palawan we go! ah, i can suddenly feel the el nido sand on my toes. it feels different from bora...hmm.

and since i was so pumped up to hit the beach once again, i had an impromptu bikini shopping while waiting for mads to get off work. i bought 2 black bikini tops for P600+ at topshop and 1 nautical bikini top from dorothy perkins worth P220! gawd, am i lucky or what? =) i feel like i won't be able to sleep anymore because i'm so excited and i just can't hide it! now all i have to do is work my ass out and do a gazillion sit ups to achieve that perfect bikini bod! gawd, i'm not that lucky afterall =s
***so sorry for the blurry pics. just grabbed it from aids' multiply.

romper

Old Navy romper. Debenhams vest. gladiator heels from tiangge. horn necklace given by my bff. cocktail ring from the Rockwell bazaar.
special thanks to my sister.

who knew i will be able to use this romper again and not in the beach? i love you sister!

long sleeveless cardigan

"mommy and me day"
TRF gray v-neck shirt. long sleeveless cardigan from uk. Get Laud full leggings. ballet flats from tiangge. Australian chained quilted bag. H&M enamel cuff. necklace from the Rockwell bazaar.

i think SM department store is one of the happiest places on Earth. we tried to searched in the local boutiques after i accompanied my mom to her facial appointment but it was all so saddening. but entering the SM department store was so refreshing with all the mid-year sale banners hanging all over the place. i was able to buy two studed t-flats because i can't possibly choose between white and black because they are equally so posh.

i did buy black full leggings again because i've worn my old one far too many times already. my new leggings has a zipper at the hem which makes it look unique from all the other leggings out there.

one thing's for sure, they've definitely got it all for youuuuu!=)

LBD that rocks

LBD and skull bandana both given by friends. Ray Ban aviators. H&M enamel cuff. HDY gladiator flats.
special thanks to Abby and Gaga.

and yezzzz, my aviator is full of sand!!!

lady gaga

off shoulder top from tiangge. blue liquid leggings given by my cousin. Primadonna shoes. DIY layered necklace. Artikel blue cocktail ring.
special thanks to Karla.

can't read my, can't read my poooooker face...
joel and his friends were joking around saying they want to watch lady gaga's concert here in manila just to see her singit! booooyz talaga! tsk.

savannah and svetlana

@ greenbelt 5
on me a.k.a. savannah/serena: gray dress and biker jacket both from uk. boots purchased in Canada. horn necklace given by my bff. cocktail ring from Rockwell bazaar. Mendrez quilted silver bag.
on my bff a.k.a svetlana/georgina: blazer and sling bag both from uk. TRF white v-neck shirt. leggings from SM. Trunk Show gladiator heels. anchor necklace. cuff. cocktail ring.

i know only two persons in my life named Isang: one is a deaf/mute and the other one is so talkative. the Isang last Friday though was so harsh, it almost made me stay home...but in the end, a Dang is braver than an Isang. a Dang will never be stopped by even the heaviest typhoon when she wants to shop...and so she did =)

my bff is the best shopping companion if only we both don't suck in math. nevertheless, i was able to buy a sparkly t-shirt dress ala-serena van der woodsen in Zara for only P745. the best part is, it was originally P3650! can you believe it? i plan to wear it on my bday since i want to tell the whole world that i am 25 and i've never been better =P

also bought a basic gray v-neck tee from TRF and i want more! i want a black one and a white one. a girl can never have too many basic v-neck shirts. agree?

and i want the pink and black dress from topshop (the one nez was fittting)!!!

ended the night with dinner and talkies at kitchen. i have the best best best friend in the world, if only she wasn't injured. hope you are well, syots =)

lacy

lace dress from uk. sling bag from my mom's closet. Girlshoppe cocktail ring. shoes from tiangge.

summer lovin'

colorful floral skirt used as a dress given by a friend. platform wedges from SM. Clinique clutch. belt and shades from tiangge.
