FEATURE: MEDIUM MAGAZINE (BLOGGER OF THE WEEK)

This month marks the 2nd anniversary of my blog. For two years, I've never had a sponsor, an ad that pays or even a giveaway. My blog is purely standing still out of my passion for doing it. I don't care about getting sponsors or lots of comments or followers. But I must admit that it is definitely good to feel recognized. After all, blogging could be hard work. I blog because it makes me happy. I do not do it for fame or any underlying agenda. If I am getting sponsors now, invites to shows or features, I treat it as icing on the cake with cherry on top ;) Yes, lovelies, I have a lot in store for you this April! Several events happening here and there in Calgary that I am going to and covering. Blogging do have its perks :) Plus sponsors and giveaways coming your waaaaaaaaay!!! I am ecstatic to do giveaways because I see it as a way to say THANK YOU to my loyal readers :)

Anyway, here is an icing on the cake...I got interviewed and featured in Medium Magazine as Blogger of the Week! Here's the interview/feature:

Kristine Diane Faustino, a.k.a. KD Faustino, thrives off of real-life fashion inspirations. Through her blog, The Girl with the Messy Hair, she shares her daily outfits as well as her travel adventures. Whether shes rocking a fedora, beret or just some messy hair, KD shares her daily explorations through her own fashion lens.

What does fashion mean to you?
Fashion to me is an expression of how you feel. I think from the moment it was designed and created, it was already an expression of ones emotions. When you pick it out from the closet and styled it to make it your own, it is still an expression of how you feel for that day.

How does you Filipino heritage influence your sense of style?
Filipinos are very creative, talented and our fashion scene is definitely more advanced than what most people expected it to be. I came from the capital city which is Manila so my style is very urban and street. In Manila, everyday and anywhere is an excuse to dress up. It is definitely fashion over comfort there where as it is the other way around here.

Whats the story behind your blogs name?
I named my blog The Girl with the Messy Hair because I seriously dont comb my hair. I comb it once a day after I shower and thats it. My hair is naturally wavy and I do like how it says, I dont care if Im messy, I am a HOT mess. My hair is definitely my crowning glory.

How do you pick outfits to write about?
Honestly, whatever I will wear in real life or I am wearing in real life would be the one Ill write about in my blog.

What are some of your favourite brands?
I am obsessed with Chanel. If I have all the money in the world, I would buy all the Chanel bags in the world. I do love Balmain, Balenciaga and DSquared too. For non-designer brands, I love shopping at Zara, H&M and Forever 21.

What would your dream blog piece be about?
My dream blog piece would probably be an interview with Bryanboy. Ive always wanted to know his story since hes the biggest Filipino international blogger. Plus I think hes very witty, clever and funny. It will be a blast to interview him, go shopping and take outfit photos.

What piece of clothing do you think every girl should have in her closet?
Every girl should have a white shirt/tank top and a LBD.

If you could swear by any Canadian boutique, which one would it be?
Winners!!! I am simply amazed by that store.
